Overview
The goal is to design a responsive app for youth to engage in socioemotional development. Learning to use technology in a healthy way and express emotions is twofold.
Individuals, families, teachers, and caretakers need effective ways to aid in children developing healthy tech habits and becoming assertive in expressing and understanding their emotions.
EmoMe will help kids understand and develop assertiveness, kindness, and empathy for themselves and others through engaging activities.
Research
User research

Competitive audit
Ideation
I used a competitive audit to reveal experiences throughout the industry, so that EmoMe contains the best elements and features.
I generated ideas by sketching on paper.
I conducted interviews and created empathy maps to understand how to best fulfill their requirements.
Research revealed limitations for users such as challenges saving progress and opening new and existing sessions.
Affinity diagrams sort through data gathered, which helped me measure what users detected as good, neutral, and not good.
Design
I created an EmoMe sitemap and digital wireframes to create a streamline experience across different platforms.
“I love learning through various ways. It helps me remember more information.”
-User Quote
I used mockups and hi fidelity prototypes to envision user experience.
“Learning through technology is fun.”

What I learned
Throughout each step of the process, I utilized data gathered to ideate and execute the envisioned goal.
Accessibility issues with contrasting colors was realized. Moving forward, color schemes will be improved.
Further research will also include how much youth are retaining what they have learned.
